31. Oct Tips on how to make a kick – and a little about bundled plugins
Marcus Schössow, the globe trotting mad man, who recently started blogging starts to give good tips on producing. Now it’s time to do a decent and unique kick.
Before this NI Battery oriented short tutorial propably the best tutorial to make a (trance) kick was by Airwave (who I recently remixed) and it can be found as sticky post in Trance.nu’s production forums.
Lately I’ve been pondering if I should get NI’s Komplete 5 (All NI producing plugins) instead of NI Komplete Synths (Absynth 4, FM 8, Massive, Pro-53). Komplete’s price is closer to 900 euros (if not on sale), and Komplete Synths can be purchased with 400 euros.
So far I’ve have bought NI FM8, from which isn’t upgradeable to any NI bundle – and that is a dying shame. I have also been testing NI Massive, and after few sessions of wondering the user interface, I’m slowly starting to like the synth. That’s why I’ve been thinking of “saving” some money, by getting 2 other synths in the same bundle and start to use NI’s Kore Player, or maybe perhaps the hardware/software version – Kore2.
Maybe I just should give these babies a test drive. I’ve heard my friend K-System is using Komplete on his productions at his studio just 100 kilometres away from me. Maybe it’s time for a little roadtrip.
