I just heard from Ava Recordings representative that their upcoming release has been leaked, apparently from their B-list.
Sharing is caring some might say, but this kind of activity can really harm the EDM industry.
Just recently I talked with well known finnish DJ who has noticed playing older tracks on radio or at gigs always get better feedback and reactions from the growd. Has the digital distribution finally shooten itself to the leg?
Just 4 years ago I remember when hearing a new great track on A State of Trance or another well known radioshow gave me the chills. Now, the reaction is much more calm. Actually hearing the track and seeing the enthuastic feedback just makes me laugh a bit. Are the tracks worse than 4 years ago? Perhaps they are, but the main reason has to be the amount of music released in weekly basis.
I know it myself, I’m playing too fresh tracks from time to time. That’s mainly because I’m testing new material from my friends and my peers, but also because I love to give support to small labels and rising producers. I aslo recieve a healthy amount of promos every month, so I simple aren’t anymore aware when the tracks are released.
Music has came a disposable item. And I hate that.
So what’s my point in all this? I can’t form my sentences clearly enough to be specific, but the main deal is:
Respect the music, the industry and the producers. Just like we used to back in the day.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
