Earlier this spring I signed two new tracks to Miika Kuisma’s supercool label Subtraxx. At then we thought we would release “Gratitude” and “Sun Will Follow You” as a two track EP, but things have gone further.
When I sent an early version of Sun Will Follow You to Jace, one of my best friends in this scene, he got blown away - and stated he wants to remix the track. The remix will be a collab with his long time friend Ima’gin, classically trained trance producer. He is also the co-owner of Echelon Records and the other half of Synthika (together with Tempo Giusto).
Speaking of the latter, I spent a summery day with Tempo Giusto at his place. Apart from grilling and chilling, we managed to start working on a collab. It’s still in it’s early phase and we can’t decide whether to take the track to more uplifting style or to make it even more progressive. The funny thing is, this time I’m up for uplifting while TG wants to keep it more simple and progressive.
Passion
After releasing Those Mellow Moments on Finity, I got a remix enquiry from upcoming finnish producer duo Spiritus & Asper. I got the request on monday (couple of weeks ago) while I was at work. Liking the overall feel of the original mix of Passion, so I immediately asked for the remix parts and later that night I had done the first draft of the track.
Spiritus & Asper are returning the favour hence they have already started to remix Gratitude, to be released on Subtraxx.
Now both Subtraxx tracks are getting remixed there’s a big possibility the tracks will be released as singles instead of the previously thought EP.
Phase One
Suprised of the pace I could work, I asked Marnik from Bonzai Music if I could remix one of their recent releases, Angel Makris - Phase One released on Nemesis. I received the remix parts soon after that and I have the the first draft already done and approved on Bonzai.
I needed to rework on the remix parts a bit, since all I got in a pack was a single vocal line and one midi file containing all the data - meaning all the chords, melodies and supporting melodies were on the same file, and at the same location. After getting the pack Angel Makris had broke his hard drive, leaving me no choice but do all of the sounds myself.
Punjabi Child
Bonzai was indeed pleased very pleased to hear the early version of Phase One Remix, as they asked me to do a remix of upcoming single of Airwave, Punjabi Child.
The track is from his just released album Touareg, and is now also being remixed by Miika Kuisma and Eddie Sender. I’m more than honoured to do the remix as Airwave (with his various aliases) has been one of my main influences towards my laid back sound in studio aswell as DJing.
As you probably noticed earlier in this post, I like to work fast, so it shouldn’t be a surprise I’ve already done the first full lenght version of my Punjabi Child Remix. At this point it seems to be a bit faster and uplifting than the original, but still in moderate tempo.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
