I tried to do a summery progressive house influenced prog trance remix and I feel I succeeded well with it.

It was pleasure to work with vocals of Maria Nayler – I fell in love with her voice already with first releases with Robert Miles. Naturally remixing Tilt, one of the best succeeded trance acts of yester years was a huge honor.

Lost Language’s current A&R Tasadi asked me to to take part in his upcoming mixing compilation which includes only new unreleased tracks. I had this one track about to be finished which didn’t quite fit to the direction I was heading with my current sound. I decided to take it more towards my Evil Twin alias, and it ended up to be collab between me and myself. Mental, I know and it was ment to be too.

Here’s how the label is pitching the release.

Lost Language’s latest compilation album stems from US trance master Tasadi. For the past year he has scouted exclusive tracks from some of the hottest global producers and seamlessly mixed them into his latest CD called ‘Ascension’.

Ascension’s proceedings start with Mexico’s trance talent Ivan Mateluna in a symphonic introduction named ‘Eden’ to start the heaven bound journey. Following up that ethereal opening is one of Sedna’s top talents, Segery Tkachev drawing you in with deep basses, and spiraling melodies in his latest production ‘The Untold Story of Mountain Spring’. International super producer Andy Moor’s chunky remix of ‘Disappear Here’ by Hybrid soon follows to amp the tone up a dimension.

Consistently releasing massive tunes in the past, next up comes veteran Russian talent Vadim Zhukov with ‘Follow Me’ in a wicked remix by Nhato. Nhato, one of Japan’s explosive new and up & coming producers, then teams up with Tasadi himself to do an explosive, FX filled remix of legendary trance team Tilt’s new production ‘No Other Day’. Things take a dreamy turn for a bit, and guitars mix with lush breakdowns in Adymus’ remix of ‘Silk Road’ by Michael Badal. ‘2000 Days Ago’, a surefire dance floor rocker by Tkachev (a name you will be surely be hearing more often) is next blended into the journey.

Ville Lope gets into the act with progressive grooves and catchy riffs in his new track ‘Ninja’. Guaranteed to put smiles on any classic trance fans face, the Tiesto featured ‘Shangri-La’ by Robbie Nelson gets a big progressive interpretation by Dj Mog & Angus Gibbins. Next, Russian producer Rinat Shabanov releases his new track ‘Touch’ in a Dmitry Bessonov Remix that combines bouncy basses with a laid back piano that transcends you to another place.

Tasadi’s own composition featuring Aurielle ‘We Are Human’ gets a trance revamp from Ivan Mateluna. Exitstone continues to impress the trance scene with old school rolling basslines along with haunting &euphoric melodies in ‘Supergreen’. Persian based Masoud (Dj MaSound) provides us his latest bomb ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ with slick, tight beats and big riffs in the break. Trance trio Saint X blows the roof off with a peak-time trance monster ‘Lifestream’, and Vadim Zhukov wraps things up with perfect rising leads on a tribal style beat in ‘Ninety Nine’.

The ring master Tasadi along with his production and remix swat team debut some exclusive progressive and trance bombs in perfectly welded electronic series with the first being ‘Ascension 001: The Awakening’, a massive package no enthusiast should miss!

Ville Lope vs Evil Twin – Ninja [Lost Language] by villelope

The Big League is one of the clubbiest tracks I’ve done so far. The track is pretty straight forward, leaving the hooky arpeggio playing throughout the track. I tried to combine the elements used by the big name producers in trance scene at the moment with my own sounds and tricks.

Ville Lope is a familiar name to every progressive DJ out there. As the Label manager of Subtraxx, In-demand producer and DJ Ville is definitely one of the busiest mans in the business.

“The Big League” is not just average trance track, it’s a statement for the trance scene that he’s here to stay. It’s time to step up to the big league.

With trademark-like continuous hooky arpeggio, rock-influenced snare and beautiful breakdown this is a yet another stellar track that won’t leave the track floor empty for sure.

Just after his first EP released on Subtraxx, french Arkia has already compared to BT. His remix is fresh for sure, combining even pop/rock -influences to something that is definitely dubbed as progressive.

Ville Lope should be a familiar name to every progressive DJ out there. He’s a Finnish DJ, producer and label manager of Subtraxx. Ville is one of the renowned few who have striven to keep Finland’s intimate electronic music stature securely on the world map.
He has competently crafted his sound into both the Scandinavian and European clubbing scenes. “It’s In Her Eyes” is a great example of his skills. Beautiful melodic progressive trancer with memorable vocal hook and lead piano which stick into one’s head for quite some time.
The remix work is done by one of best hidden finnish talents. Janne Nygård, known for his Zage and Lume aliases, has been quiet for a long period of time. Now he is put back to the scene map with with this remix. Pitch Me Up Remix is a fusion of various styles from progressive house, techno to trance.
Ville’s own Evil Twin Remix gives the track a bit more twisted treatment. It’s a straight forward pro house mix with mental background elements, weird pitch pends and groovy basses.

The Definition of Subtraxx is a mix compilation series needing little explaining. This mix gives you a great overview about the sound Subtraxx is releasing as a label. An insight to the artists on board. It really defines what Subtraxx is all about: High quality progressive trance.

While the first episode was a overview to the early days of Subtraxx by Miika Kuisma, the founder of the label the second episode is more into the present sound and artist on board. This time the current front man and A&R of the label Ville Lope brings us a showcase like mix of the releases since taking the artistic lead of the label.

My first mix compilation “Definition of Subtraxx – Volume 2″ is available from all digital stores like Beatport, Audiojelly, DJ Download, Juno Download, iTunes. The pack includes the mix and all the tracks used in the mix as full length DJ friendly unmixed form.

Nathan Profitt – Strange Days (Ville Lope Remix) by villelope

Ville Lope has already proven his place as a household name in Subtraxx, not only by his work as an A&R, but also as a producer. His debut in Subtraxx, Gratitude and the balearic summer progtrance follow up entitled Sun Will Follow You have both made it into several compilations.

Farewell To Forgiven continues in the path of pure progressive goodness. Groovy basslines, detailed background fx’s and beautiful melodies, that’s what Ville’s sound is all about.

The progressive original is getting solid support from another in-house artist Ayleon, whose outstanding remix brings the best parts of good-old-trance in form of modern production. And yes, the sonic quality is something you can expect from these skilled northern producers.

Farewell To Forgiven presents the vocal talent of miss Ruusa Kangas.

Subtraxx is one of my favorite prog trance labels cause simply every release is high quality and essential if you wish to add emotions and beautifully crafted melodies in your set. The original mix is a deep but really optimistic prog trancer with strong electro elements and an amazing vocal on the break that you feel that the skies will open and angels will appear out of sudden. I was speechless the first time that I checked out this and I was amazed from the whole feeling that this vocal radiates. Ayleon is my favorite remix as it is chunkier, groovier more fast and really uplifting. The main break comes quite early but this is not a bad thing as it then leaves the rest of the track to develop much more fully. Absolutely essential choice if prog trance is your thing, so do the right thing and add in your basket both mixes!

Mike Shiver’s Feelings is one of my all time favourites of uplifting trance tracks. I always wanted to remix the track and I actually have asked Mike Shiver himself if I could have the parts to do the remix.

Lost Language owns all the rights so his hands were tied at the moment. But in summer 2009 I was asked by Tasadi, the producer of the compilation, to do a remix of any track from the Lost Language. I knew I had to do a remix of Feelings.

The track will be released on Lost Language’s Exhibition Century compilation mixed by Tasadi. It’s the 10th CD release of Lost Language on their tenth year running – a true perfect ten.

There’s some new mixes from the classics, but also the good old mixes from the best tracks ever released on Lost Language.

This is hands down one of my best works so far. Let me know how you feel about the remix.

Mike Shiver – Feelings (Ville Lope Remix) [Lost Language] by villelope

The original track reminded me a lot of early “A State Of Trance” label’s releases back in 2004. I took the melodies, twisted them around a bit, while concentrating on a massive pad-filled breakdown. After the breakdown I mix-n-mash everything up again just to make all the melodies to be introduced again on a minibreak.

This track is truly done for the floor, so if listening at home, please crank up the volume – this track is incredibly bassheavy.

The label said the following: “A rising producer talent from Finland, Ville Lope delivers Sundown in his melodic progressive style. The intro is built on FX sounds and murmurs, then joined by a robust jagged bass line which grinds remorselessly throughout the main parts. The melody themes of the first part of the original mix are presented here in reverse order, and the variation of the bass line gives them a completely different, dark and moody feeling. The track descends subtly into a soft string haven which then beautifully introduces another theme from the original. The second part reminisces on the main themes of the first part intensified with new melodic layers, and the grinding bass escorts the track into outro.”
