A rising producer talent from Finland, Ville Lope delivers Sundown in his melodic progressive style. The intro is built on FX sounds and murmurs, then joined by a robust jagged bass line which grinds remorselessly throughout the main parts.

The melody themes of the first part of the original mix are presented here in reverse order, and the variation of the bass line gives them a completely different, dark and moody feeling. The track descends subtly into a soft string haven which then beautifully introduces another theme from the original.

The second part reminisces on the main themes of the first part intensified with new melodic layers, and the grinding bass escorts the track into outro.

The track will be Beatport exclusive from 1st of September. I’ll upload you a clip to Soundcloud before that.

The return to Green Martian. While my previous release Passive Attack was more four to the floor club banger, Pulp Friction shows us the trancier side of my sound.

The tempo stays at moderate 130bpm, but the melodies take you back to the good old days of trance. As always the track is filled with emotion.

Alongside the Original Mix and Intro Mix, the finnish boy band phenomenon Syna delivers a club track in style of their upcoming EP on Subtraxx.

Release date: 28th July 2009.

Ville Lope, who is another Finnish electronica star, has crafted together a bit of concoction with his mix. The opening of the mix goes deep on the beat and leads with a gritty bassline with squelching percussion leading onto of the building Piano string. The tempo with this mix is mild but when the climax of the main elements all hit you the record goes back into the deep beat with the gritty bass line, which may disturbed the flow for some or give it a needed change for others. For me, it does break quite nice and builds out progressively.

… Ville’s remix, a remix that takes more from the original than Ayleon’s did, but still manages to groove along progressively.  This version is definitely not well suited for a patio or a beach, but don’t be surprised when you hear it in a dark and dirty club.  Ville’s managed to create a track that’s both industrial and rough, but polished and smooth.  Not an easy feat! His breakdown is the work of a madman.  At one point it sounds like he’s got 3 separate melodies layered together, including the trance inducing sax. The track actually manages to gather momentum as it progresses after the breakdown and what turns out to be 8 minutes feel closer to 5.

The first time was in Pinky, Turku, where I played the opening set before Schössow in late 2007. In fall 2008 he played the mainstage in Colors Festival – I was there giving support to the audio visual team. Now it’s time to hit the decks again, as I’m opening the night before handing the duty to the globetrotting master himself.

The night is ended by Madwave main promoter Sergei Shkuroff playing back to back with finnish trance prodigy Anton Sonin. The lineup can’t be any better on a wednesday!

As you can see, the extragavanza continues on thursday, on mayday’s eve, which is a big event in Finland. The students celebrate all over the country, though it’s the labour day – namely. Anyhow, I’m hosting Marcus in Tampere showing all the vital places and feeding him local treats. Let’s see if I get him to eat some black sausage (Wikipedia).

After almoust a year-long break, the Most Famous Boy Band in Finnish Trance Scene returns – with a huge progressive breakbeat choon! “Forever” combines a movie-like atmosphere, big orchestral elements and organic sounds (including saxophone) with a driving bassline and precisely cut beats.

Remix from Ville Lope turns the track into a massive progressive
trancer, whereas the promising upcoming talent Ayleon takes “Forever”
to a more uplifting style with a mix that will definitely cause some havoc on
dancefloors. Be sure to check these out!
